Oxmoor Center South Wing Redevelopment
Project Description
The Oxmoor Center South Wing Development project is an expansion of the existing Oxmoor Mall where a large department store had previously existed. The new space was designed to support a new Top Golf facility just being constructed adjacent to the mall. An outside plaza fills the space between the two structures.
Welcoming patrons are two large canopies painted two different colors provided by Mapes. Also included in the impressive new entrance are three types of panels, fiber cement from Equitone, aluminum composite material from ACM Panelworx and corrugated steel from Berridge. Two colors of aluminum siding were sourced from Longboard to further accentuate the entrance.
Strong Tower fabricated the Kawneer storefront in its Louisville, Kentucky fabrication shop.
Due to the exotic materials and long lead time, preplanning and coordination played a key factor to the success of this project. To maintain the schedule, all the specialty materials had to be ordered before the building was built; nothing could be field verified. In addition, many modifications had to be made onsite in real time to accommodate the unidentified conditions of the existing building.
