Louisville Free Public Library

When the Louisville, KY Main Library, which is the nucleus of the library system had issues with their windows, Koch Corporation was the contractor that won the open bid to replace them. This was a fortunate happenstance since Koch is an industry leader in historical window replacement and they are located right in Louisville.   99 Historically accurate wood windows  made by Custom Wood Reproductions were installed by Koch.

The original South Building, designed by Tachau and Pilcher Architects of New York City, was constructed in 1906 with support from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. The contemporary North Building, designed by Louis and Henry Architects of Louisville, was built in 1969 through a bond issue. The new building more than doubled the space in the Main Library.  Over 400,000 people per year visit the Main Library.
